I've been a bit of a slacker updating this, but here is a variety of pictures from the past month. We spent most of August and September working on our roof and getting the metal done. We got so much rain the month of September that we had flooding problems in our basement. So, we put in a french drain around our house. Now all the extra water runs into the pipe and down to the lake, instead of my basement. We are back in Wyoming and loving the sunshine for as long as it will last. They say it's suppose to start getting cold soon. :( Bruce goes in for surgery in the next month to get the plate and screws out of his left heel from his calcaneous fracture from last summer. Hopefully that will fix most of his problems with his heel. Although, we understand that with an injury of that sort, it will never be exactly as it was before. Fishing this year was really slow compared to last year for the Red season, but the Silver's showed up and we did fairly well off of them. Atleast we were able to finish the season this year. We are grateful for our blessings! Bruce and I had our 9th Anniversary last month and will spend the weekend in Deadwood, South Dakota tomorrow to celebrate. I've taken over the books on our storage units again and look forward to being busy with those. Plus, Dakota is in kindergarten this year and Olivia's in Pre-school 3 days a week. Oh, how fast the time flies! Well, here's a few pictures.
While Bruce and I worked on the roof, the kids took advantage of the new "jungle gym" by our house.

Dusty Jensen and his family, friends of ours from Salmon, Idaho, came up for a week for vacation. They flew into Anchorage, then took the train to Whittier and then took the ferry to Cordova. We had a great time while they were here. Here they are with a couple of the Silver Salmon they caught pole fishing just down the road from our house.

We took them "Alaska style" fishing. The humpy's come into a little pond right outside Cordova and try swimming up the creek to spawn. If you're quick, you can catch one with your hands.

There's a fish by the shore trying to get back into the flow of the creek

Deshka loves to go fishing on daddy's boat

We went out to see if we could catch some halibut. No luck this time, or at all this summer, but we did catch a crazy looking starfish. And, we saw some sea lions.

It's a little hard to see, but here's a Salmon Berry for anyone who wondered what one was. I waited until too late in the season to take a picture otherwise, they are about twice that size. The come in a variety of colors, red, "salmon", yellow. I made one batch of jam this year and wished I'd had time to do another one.

Olivia with her friend, Aimee Hamberger. Aimee's mom gave Olivia a haircut because she had gotten ahold of scissors, again!
You can't see really well, but this is Bruce on his boat "Done Deal" heading into the harbor in Cordova after fishing.

Here is the picture I took while I was waiting for Bruce to come in. To the left is part of the dock and then the rainbow that goes over top of one of the cannery's tenders (the bigger boats that Bruce delivers fish to while out fishing).

For anyone who hasn't seen the plane we bought last year. We love it for several reasons. It seats 6, so our whole family will fit. It has lots of leg room for the 4 in the back. It has lots of upgrades on navigational equipment. It is great for flying in questionable weather.

Here is our cabin in Alaska how we left it in September. We finally got our metal roof on right before we left. No, that's not our outhouse to the left of the house. It's our smoker. We used it in July to smoke 6 cases of Salmon. All the lumber was sawn on our saw mill, even the shiplap siding.
